Available only in the evening, AURA INVALIDES invites you to rediscover the exceptional heritage of the Dôme des Invalides through an extraordinary experience.

History and program : 

During the tour, you’ll discover the major stages in the history of the Dôme des Invalides, from its construction to the present day. You’ll be able to admire the architectural details of this work of art, but also discover the fascinating stories of its heroes, such as Napoleon Bonaparte and Marshal Foch.

The AURA Invalides tour program is divided into several parts, each offering a different immersion into the history and world of the Dôme des Invalides. The tour begins with a presentation of the monument’s history, followed by a discovery of the Chapelle Royale and its magnificent golden dome.

You’ll then be invited into the large projection room for a unique visual and audio experience. For 30 minutes or so, you’ll be transported into the history of the Dôme des Invalides through special effects, projections and immersive sounds.

Finally, the tour ends with free time in the Dome’s galleries, where you can admire the works of art and historical objects on display. This tour is an unforgettable experience for all lovers of history, culture and technology.

  • Meeting point: Entrance only via Place Vauban (on the Dôme des Invalides side of the Ecole Militaire or St François Xavier metros).No latecomers will be admitted.
  • Access: Métro 13 Saint-François-Xavier (6 min), Métro 8 Ecole Militaire (8 min).
    Bus L92 Vauban, L28 La Tour Maubourg, L69 Varennes.
    Parking 23 rue de Constantine.
  • Please arrive 30 min before your scheduled visit to allow time for check-in.
  • For children aged 6 and over, experience is recommended.
  • Please note the presence of flickering lights and a high volume of sound during the experience, which may affect sensitive persons.
  • The experience takes the form of a walk, and there are stairs both inside and outside the Dôme des Invalides.
  • Please note that there are no toilets available on site.
