Description
YVES SAINT-LAURENT MUSEUM
As a great couturier, Yves Saint Laurent constantly sought to invent new shapes. As early as 1958, as artistic director at Christian Dior, he asserted his modernity by creating the clothing line called "Trapèze". This geometric silhouette became iconic and marked the history of fashion. From the 1960s, his creations combined simple cuts, rigorous lines and bold colors.
The couturier played with geometry, creating modern and radical forms. Whether curves or right angles, spheres or broken lines, these different forms of clothing and graphic arts from the museum's collections interact with the works and decors of Claudia Wieser.
Known for her immersive and contemplative installations, Wieser presents here a set of pieces, some of which are new.
This original experience definitively anchors the genius of Yves Saint Laurent in our contemporary era.
